F François's Saxophone :  A Real Jewel B

The old Conn tenor - an M30 "Conqueror" -looks used - and used it is. François blows an average of six hours per day giving outdoor concerts in the summer on the Terrasse Dufferin in Quebec City, and his sax takes a real beating in that outdoor environment: dust, moisture, heat, and cold, year after year.. It's not hard to gauge the extent of worn lacquer on this sax - the bare metal hues no longer match very nicely with the honeyed patina of the remaining lacquer; nonetheless, his beautiful vintage sax still has a fine tone and response of the old tenor. 

Of course, François's playing has something to do with that. "Simply marvelous" is all that can be said.
